The Golf Association of Montenegro organized the National Amateur Championship in honor of Independence Day on May 21st and 22nd, at the Golf Center in Žablj near Zrenjanin.
This is the fifth national golf championship in a row, which this year was renamed from the Montenegro Championship to the National Amateur Championship of Montenegro.
Goran Radonjić from Bar won first place, Đorđe Popović from Mojkovac second, and Veljko Vojinović from Bar third.
In the women’s competition, Suzana Kontić from Podgorica came first, Radmila Anđus from Budva second, and Slobodanka Boba Šćekić from Podgorica third.
The tournament was opened by the President of the Montenegrin Olympic Committee, Dušan Simonović, who said that he was happy that the Montenegrin Olympic family was expanding and expressed hope that the next major golf competition would be organized in Montenegro, where the first courses standardized for official competitions are being built.
